How To Use RSS
By jimso | July 24, 2008
Rss is abbreviation from the words ” Really Simplified Syndicate”. It is made for us to be able to get the information when our watched site gets updated.
For example, when I go to my site at http://www.learnspanishlessons.info and I like the content and value provided. I then click on the RSS logo. It is an orange logo with the white curve. I click on that and will be led to a RSS feed page. I then can select which tool I would like to use. I think Google may be the best choice. Then it will ask you which software do you like to apply the information for. I got recommendation that Google Reader is a good alternative. I select that. Then my RSS feed service is done.
Now in order to get updated, you can go into your Google. Log in into your account. Then select Google Reader on the top of the page. You will be led to a page where you can see all the updated news. You can read the new post of that site without going to that site. It saves you time to do this.
Another advantage of RSS is that you can use it in order to be able to get new content for your article. Subscribing to your favorite sites’ RSS and you will always know the progress of the sites you watched.
You can benefit from RSS by getting the information shown on your site. Your site will be updated automatically without you posting a single word. You can go to Google blog search and put in the keywords you are interested in. You then will go the blogs that have all the relevant contents. You can check which one matches your needs.
If you want that Google blog search RSS on your site, you can simply put the url on a script that allows your site to autopost that RSS. You can check such script on Google.
